BLUE WATERS OF ZANZIBAR.
In 2004 I had planned to write a guide to Spear-fishing in Zanzibar where I had studied all the reefs across all of Zanzibar Island from North to South, and East to West.
I teamed up with Ian Mosely who was a PADI diving instructor I was lucky to meet whilst entertaining on P&O Luxury cruise liners with my dance band Black Velvet where Ian was a professional musician playing the Trombone with the Main Housebound Orchestra.
Every time we cruised to the Caribbean Islands, Ian Moseley would organise our Scuba diving programme normally two dives, one a reef dive and the second a wreck dive.
My diving dream producing my guide to Scuba diving in Zanzibar failed as my underwater movies did not meet professional standards as I did not have the Hi quality underwater camera and housing. I still dream of my greatest diving days.
Please view my video recorded at Mnemba Island (sorry video poor quality) but enjoy the background Caribbean music by my band Black Velvet.
Best regards,
Benny
D09 - Scuba Diving I Zanzibar - Mnemba island.
PADI (Scuba Diving).
Dear Scuba Diving Musicians
During my young days whilst living in Zanzibar, I spent most of my time Spearfishing (killing big fish underwater). Those were the great days. When I started cruising on the Canberra with my dance band Black Velvet, family and friends, I was fortunate to meet up with Ian Mosely, who introduced me to Scuba Diving and I trained and qualified as a PADI diver.
Ian Mosely was my diving instructor who also trained many other divers.
Ian organised all the Sucba Diving trips whilst we cruised the Caribbean and other places and on each diving trip we enjoyed two dives a day, a reef and a wreck dive
which were all very exciting.
In time I got myself an underwater camera and have captured many exciting fish mostly in Zanzibar where Ian and I spent two weeks diving around the various reefs. Videos will follow later but in the meantime here are some of the underwater photographs taken by Ian Moseley.
Later in time I will add a few brief stories of my Scuba Diving experience.
OVERLAND TRUMBONE
Best regards
Benny
