Dear Norma & TonyJo
THANK YOU

cc: Ex-Students Committee - Greg Carvalho, Erris (Bunny) Fernandes & Larry Fernandes
(Relatives & Guests)
Black Velvet & Velvet Touch Band Members

I wish to convey my thanks for inviting Black Velvet & Velvet Touch to provide Live music for dancing and listening at your 2017 London School Reunion held on Sunday 10th September 2017.

Rev. Fr. Tony Fernandes officiated a splendid service with added compliments to a great choir (the pianist was superb).

It was great meeting up with many folks I had not seen for quite a few years and above all seeing so many happy smiling faces.

I do hope our two bands provided you all with the music of your choice. It was with sadness that the Fire Alarm system caused total disruption to the function just at the peak time where my few sets of special music could not be played especially the AFRICAN medley for all the Kenyans (your school in Nairobi). Our Goan and Portuguese medlies left for the end also missed out.

Our grand finale was a let down and I feel sorry for all your ex-students and guests who were in attendance and had to leave the hall.

St. Teresa's School Song.
I have copied the words of the School song below which any band performing in the future for St. Teresa's Reunion functions are free to use. Lyrics composed by Denzyl Sequeira and sung by Kenny Peters together with your members.

My sister Yvette De Souza Muise from Nova Scotia was in Nairobi and as such also produced St. Teresa's School song sung to the tune of  Malaika and was expecting me to sing it. Unfortunately I lost my voice and could not even sing a single song at your grand occasion. The lyrics are copied below and any band is free to use them as they wish. (I will release a recording sung by BV).

As a token of remembrance of your special Reunion I have created this special blog spot for you, your members and guests to share together with some video clips also added below. Reget the video clips are not very clear and equally our PA sound a bit of a let down due to a technical hitch.

Photographs at the occasion.
If any of your members and guests have taken photographs, please send them to me and I will add them to your School Blog spot.
My email address is: bennydesouza@btinternet.com

Congratulations to you and your managing committee for putting a great Reunion function together which was well organised.

Best wishes to one and all.
Benny de Souza

Great pity the false Fire Alarm put an end to the most exciting hour of the Reunion Celebrations when everyone were in high spirits. Such was the luck but there will always be another time.
Good luck there was no fire to pour cold water over so all safe.
After a storm there will always be a calm.
Thanks to one and all for your co-operation and for those staying
on after the storm.
Until we meet again.
Love from
Benny & Black Velvet/Velvet Touch.

SAINT TERESA SCHOOL RE-UNION SONG
(Sung by Kenny Peters to the tune of Paper Roses)
VERSE

We want to say how much we like being together

With so many of us all looking oh so good

So don’t let all those pictures deceive you

Those lines and lack of hair are all not true

CHORUS
Saint Teresa, Saint Teresa
How we remember you with a glow
A time for learning
In the Kenya we all love
Oh how we wish we did not have to go

VERSE
The life abroad does have its many pleasures
The spring, the summer, the winter so new for us for sure
But with all school friends close and still with us to treasure
What more is there for Saint Teresa’s boys and girls

THE CPS DAYS WERE OH VERY PLAYFUL
THE DAYS WENT BY WITH SO MUCH FUN AND GAMES
THE TEACHERS THOUGH SPENT THEIR TIME PLANNING LESSONS
THE CPS BOYS AND GIRLS WERE NEVER GOING TO LEARN

All St. Teresa’s ex pupils can sing with Kenny & the Band.
Many Thanks BDS

ST TERESA'S SCHOOL NAIROBI (TUNE OF MALAIKA)

1.  Oh St. Teresa's, our beloved school in Nairobi.
Oh St. Teresa's, how we loved you when once we were young.

How the days have been seriously changed
As we spread our wings and flew away

But, we will never ever forget you, dearest,
Our beloved St. Teresa's.

We will never ever forget you, dearest,

Our beloved School in the land of our birth.

2.   Oh St Teresa's, our beloved school in Nairobi.
Oh St. Teresa's, we still love you our dearest school.

We remember the morning assemblies,
As class by class we filled the school grounds,

Our uniforms gave us strength and pride,
That told the world that we were yours.

We will never ever forget you, dearest,
Our beloved St. Teresa's from once upon a time.

3. Oh St. Teresa's, our beloved school of yore,
Oh, St Teresa's how we still remember you fondly.

Now the world reaps the fruits of your labours,
As far and wide we sing your praises,

We are strewn across the world today
With our torches shining brightly evermore.

We will never ever forget you, dearest,
Our beloved St. Teresa's our unforgettable school

4. St. Teresa's, our beloved school of our youth,
Oh St. Teresa's, how we loved you when once we were young.
Our teachers gave us our start in academia,
Albeit at the parochial school first at CPS
Our identities were un shakenly shaped,
And we became St. Teresa's finest evermore.
We will never ever forget you, dearest,
Oh St Teresa's our very best school.

HI BEN.... FIRST DRAFT....HOPE YOU LIKE THIS.... I HAVE WONDERFUL MEMORIES OF TEACHING PRACTICES AT ST. TERESA'S WHEN I WAS AT HIGHRIDGE.
If you have copies of the song for everyone, you'll have everyone singing with you or you can project it on a large screen. OR THIS COULD BE A SURPRISE SONG FROM YOUR BAND.
Good luck. Keep me posted.
